As a Melbourne wedding dress shop, we were honoured to have one of our wedding dresses featured on a Sydney wedding. Our lovely bride Jennie is one of my closest friends back in the days, and when it came to her big day, she put her full trust in Bella E La Bestia to help her find the perfect wedding dress.

Jennie's love story with Sebastian started as a coincidence when she was visiting her friend's house, and Sebastian turned out to be their friendly neighbour. The couple started with a friendly chat, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Seeing how perfect Jennie looked on her special day in her dream wedding dress made me feel overjoyed. And hearing that she received many compliments from her guests on how gorgeous she looked inside her dress made me even happier. The Wedding Venue

Set within a secluded national park in Mosman, Gunner Barracks is an iconic 142-year-old heritage building featuring breath-taking Sydney Harbour views. For weddings, Gunner Barracks offers a timeless courtyard for wedding ceremonies and canapes, and the reception will then be followed inside the main room. When it comes to taking wedding photos, Gunner Barracks is sure not to disappoint: nestled within bushland of George Heights, you will find yourself plenty of natural and greenery backdrop as well as a panoramic ocean backdrop featuring the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Our bride Jennie has previously visited this historic site and has immediately fallen in love with it. “We both love ocean/water view and I’ve been to the venue before for a high tea. I love the view and their vintage/historical building. They have good parking, the staff was organised and the food was nice,” Jennie said.

The Wedding Planning

Jennie did not start planning for her wedding day until 6 month before her wedding day, while this is a tight time frame for most of the brides, Jennie’s high organizing skills nailed everything.

The Favourite Moment on The Day

“Hard to answer this question, I loved everything,” Jennie giggled, “We had a magical day, but my favourite moment would be exchanging the personal vows and our first dance.” Jennie also recalled her second favourite moment would probably be how her felt when she got in her wedding dress: “I felt happy, satisfied, confident and excited in my dream wedding dress.”

Things that You Wish to Know Earlier

Jennie had some great wedding planning tips that can save you both time and money. Skipping the guest sign-in book and live singing during dinner can be a great way to cut costs. As most of the guests during the night will just happily mingle with each other, soft Spotify background can create a cosy and intimate atmosphere while saving couple lots of money.

Jennie also mentioned it’s also worthwhile to communicate your preferred order of photos to your photographer to ensure that you get the shots you want. Lastly, creating a Google Drive link for guests to share photos and videos is a smart way to collect memories from your big day.

Finding Her Dream Wedding Dress

As mentioned earlier, Jennie started her wedding planning 6 months before her wedding day, comparing to others this is a short period, however her familiarity with our Melbourne bridal boutique has definitely allowed her to streamline her wedding dress shopping process and dedicate more time to other wedding planning tasks. “Bella is my friend. I’ve visited her store a few times and always planned to get a wedding dress there as I know I’ll be in good hands!” She said.
