Laura and David is definitely a special duo, their love, perseverance and patience throughout the changelleges of Covid and lockdowns is truly inspiring: after 3 postponements and 2.5 years of waiting, Laura and David finally got to celebrate their wedding at Quat Quatta earlier this year. As a Melbourne bridal shop, it was an honor to be a part of their journey from the beginning and we couldn’t be happier seeing our bride Laura walk down the aisle in the wedding dress of her dream.

The Wedding Venue

Laura and David’s wedding ceremony was held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by a reception at Quat Quatta. Being a stunning boutique wedding venue in Melbourne’s Ripponlea surburbs, Quat Quatta features an elegant Victorian mansion with grand architecture and a gorgeous courtyard.

The Wedding Planning

Laura and David started planning their wedding 14 months in advance of their original wedding date. However, when COVID hit, they were forced to postpone their wedding not once but three times! “We ended up getting married 16 months after our original wedding day”, Laura said.

As a Melbourne wedding dress shop who met our bride Laura shortly after her engagement, we were thrilled to know the couple finally got hitched after months of waiting and their determination is such an inspiration to other couples.

The Favorite Moment on the Day

“Definitely our first dance”, Laura said. It’s actually David’s idea that they should go to a dance lesion together. While Laura was a little hesitant at the very beginning, their first dance ended up becoming one of the their favorite parts of the wedding day. “On the day, it just felt so special to share that moment with our friends and family.”

In fact, more and more couples now are taking dance lessons prior to their weddings. Taking dance lessons not only will spice up you and your partner’s wedding planning journey, it really can help you to become more confident on the dance floor on the wedding day and truly ‘wow’ your guests.

Things that You Wish to Know Earlier

“I wish I’d ordered one invite per household instead of one invite per person”, Laura said. Not until after her wedding Laura also discovered that AusPost make personalised stamps which can be perfect for wedding invitations. “If you have some cute engagement photos, have them made into your stamps for your wedding invites!”

Finding Her Dream Wedding Dress

Laura first came across Bella E La Bestia Bridal on Facebook. Before she started planning for everything Laura did a search in the Melbourne Brides Facebook group and booked a places people recommended, where BELB being one of them. “I booked appointments with about 3 shops. Bella E La Bestia was first on my list, and I ended up cancelling all my other appointments”, Laura said.

Unlike most of other brides who come into a bridal boutique with set ideas on their wedding dresses, Laura said she had gone in our wedding dress shop with little idea on what kind of wedding dresses she wanted. “I had gone in with no idea what I wanted. I think that almost made it easier as I had no set idea.”
