Recently tied the knot at the stunning venue of Immerse of the Yarra Valley, Molly is one of many happy clients who bought her dream wedding dress from our Melbourne bridal boutique. And today, we are so excited to share Molly’s wedding stories along with other tips.

Molly and Tim's love story may not have started off like a typical high school romance, but that only made it more special. It all began at a work Christmas party, which both of them were not originally meant to attend.

Molly had originally planned a girls' night out with her bridesmaid, but when her friend realized she got double booked for a work party, Molly tagged along. Tim, on the other hand, had planned to just go home and relax. However after a minor car accident, Tim decided to grab a drink at the party instead. It was at the party where Tim first laid eyes on Molly, and as they say, the rest is history.

The Wedding Venue

Molly and Tim's wedding venue perfectly reflected their love for each other and their happy lifestyle. On weekends, they would always have a nice meal and wine together, so they wanted a wedding venue that could capture that same atmosphere. It didn't take long for them to decide on Immerse in the Yarra Valley, which offered luxurious accommodations, a chic and elegant chapel, breathtaking mountain views, and, of course, delicious food and wine. It was the perfect venue for them to fully "immerse" themselves on their special day and it was such a joy to hear that Molly had chosen Immerse in the Yarra Valley as her wedding venue when she visited our Melbourne wedding dress shop. It's always a wonderful feeling to see a bride so in love with every aspect of her wedding day, from the wedding dress to the venue and everything in between.

The Favourite Moment

“That’s a tricky one as there were so many. I would say standing behind the doors at the chapel in anticipation, with my heart racing, and walking down that aisle with so many smiling faces beaming at me, especially my husbands.” Molly says.

Molly’s second best moment was turning around to the mirror, seeing herself in her dream wedding dress and veil, Molly felt the most beautiful she had ever felt in her life.

Finding Her Dream Wedding Gown

Molly and Tim got engaged during the lockdown and soon as it finished in August, the couple started the busy planning. Molly found our Melbourne wedding dress shop through Google. With plenty of info on plus size wedding dresses and curvy bride, Molly was soon attracted to the plus size positivity and decided to visit our wedding dress shop.

Molly has always been a big fan of lace detailing and for her dream wedding dress, she wanted something that is romantic and classic. Molly was particularly drawn to the Fit-and-flare wedding dress silhouette, and funnily enough, the wedding dress photo (Noemi) that gave her ‘the feels’ was actually taken by her own wedding photographer from a bridal collaboration that we did earlier.

So for Molly’s wedding dress shopping at our Melbourne bridal boutique, she pretty much came in just to make sure if Noemi is ‘the one’ for her. And after seeing its sweet plunging v-neck, stunning lace details, elegant long train, as well as her bridesmaid’s ‘wow’ reaction , Molly quickly said ‘yes’ to her dream wedding dress.

“My advice would be to not get stuck on the idea of a ‘perfect wedding dress”, Molly says, “Go try different styles in person and be assure that you will look great in more than just one style of wedding dresses because you will be the beaming bride!”

Molly also recommends being mindful when selecting who to bring along with your wedding dress shopping as their opinions and personal style could potentially sway your own vision for your dream wedding dress. “Ultimately, it's your wedding dress and your big day, so you should choose a dress that makes you feel confident and beautiful.”

Things that you wish to know earlier

“Consider leaving a week between your wedding day and honeymoon just to make sure you have time to settle down a bit.” Molly says, “With 100 guests we knew it was a risk, and we both caught COVID on our first day on honeymoon. My husband unfortunately developed complications and ended up in the Intensive Care Unit in New Zealand, intubated on a breathing machine for the first week of our trip. So travel insurance is a MUST.”

Molly also recommends brides to not obsess over the weather forecast and trust in their wedding photographer’s expertise for unexpected situations. “Despite flooding, intermittent rain and overcast weather on the day, we all still had a great time and our wedding photographer knew how to get the good shots!”

Lastly, with all the tight scheduling on her wedding day, Molly missed having a dance with her dad. She suggests future brides to think about that moments are most important to them and tell their wedding coordinators to make sure they won’t be missed.
